Partner Accounts:
When you are working on large opportunities or deals you may have to involve various partners to participate in the deal. These partners may be of various types supplying various components or services as part of the deal, for example OEM, VAR, SI, etc.
Advantages of involving partners into the deal is that you can assign them tasks and there is better collaboration. You can jointly see the pipeline and work on it faster.
Although partners share the same pipeline they get to see only their part of the deal tasks and value. This way even though there is cross-company collaboration, privacy and secrecy is maintained at all times.
Each partner account has following fields:
- Name (mandatory)
- Partner Type (mandatory) - VAR, OEM, Reseller, SI, Distributor, etc.
- Contact Email
- Phone Number
- Postal Address (Country mandatory)
- Website
- Description
- Type
- Industry vertical
- Annual Revenue
- Number of employees
- Logo image
Using the menu in the top navigation bar you can
- list the partners you have created or involved with
- add partner accounts
- edit partner accounts (only those you have created)
When creating a new deal you can
- involve the different partner accounts as required
- assign them various tasks
- assign them a portion of the deal amount they are responsible for (partners get to see this amount only)
When viewing the executive dashboards, you can
- sort the pipeline by partner accounts which can be used for joint partner pipeline calls.
Listing Partner Accounts:
You can list the partner accounts which you have created or you are connected with because of the deals you are involved in.
To list Partner Accounts
- click on
menu in the navigation bar
- it displays list like this
- note - the Edit link is available only for partners you have created.
Adding Partner Accounts:
You can add Partner Account before adding a deal.
To add Partner Account
- click on
menu in the navigation bar
- click on
in the partner account list it displays
- the add account form appears
- When provisioning the partner account you can specify what to track for this partner when participating in a deal - it can be one or more of
- amount
- number of units partner will provide
- number of solutions partner will provide
- enter the necessary information
- click on save.
Editing Partner Accounts:
You can edit partner Accounts which you have created.
To edit Partner Account
- click on
menu in the navigation bar
- The account list appears
- click on
icon besides the account you want to edit
- The edit account form appears
- make the necessary changes
- click on save.
Adding Partners to Deal:
When you provision a deal, you can optionally select the partners that will participate in that deal. You can also assign the portion of the deal amount these partners get to see. Now you can jointly track the deal pipeline with the selected partners.
